ShotPut Pro, ShotPut Studio, and myLTO offer the same verification types. The best choice depends on the level of verification you need and the time available.

  • File Size Only: Compares the sizes of source files and their copies. This is the fastest option, but it does not calculate checksums.
  • File Size – Source Checksum: Calculates checksums while reading the source files and records the values in reports. It relies on the operating system to report successful copying and does not read the destination files back to compare their checksums.
  • Full Checksum: Reads the copied files back from the destinations, calculates their checksums, and compares them with the source checksums. This provides a more thorough check that the copied data matches the source.

The applications also support different checksum algorithms. Your workflow or a client's requirements may determine which algorithm you should use.
