ShotPut Pro optimizes the utilized IO resources based on the types of drives involved in the offload process. The drive type is found by gathering information provided by macOS. Based on the drive type, ShotPut will then optimize the settings to provide the best possible performance. However, this process is not always perfect and it is possible that manually changing your drive's IO settings could improve its performance.

To manage these settings, first select the drive from the left hand side Drives List.

Next, click on the Settings gear beneath Drive Details.  This will open a window which will let you override the drive’s IO settings.

To override the drive’s IO settings, including Concurrent Reads and Writes, as well as the Buffer Size, select the check box next to the text Override IO settings.

After this, you are able to adjust each of the settings as needed.

Please note that editing IO settings should only be used in advanced workflows, and changing these settings could lead to slower performance. In this event were to occur, simply uncheck the Override IO settings box. This will return the UI settings to their default state.

The ability to edit IO settings is only available in versions 2023.1 or later.
