In ShotPut Studio, performing transcodes can be done through the Preset tool in your toolkit.

After selecting Preset you may need to switch the Preset Type from Copy to Transcode, which can be done using the dropdown arrow. After doing so, select a predefined preset from the list or select the + icon to add a custom preset.

After creating a preset you can then edit its settings including video, audio, timecode, and watermark options. To learn more about each of these please review the ShotPut Studio manual or check out one of our tutorial videos.

After you have completed your Transcode preset, exit out of the editor. Then drag in the items you would like to transcode and click Start.

Using the Transcode tool is a very similar process, however, it does not allow for the creation of a brand new Preset. Instead, you can then select a created Preset or you can start from a template and edit it as needed. If making edits, the Preset being used can then be overridden or you can create a brand new Preset.
