ASCMHL seal is a standard that was developed and released by a committee of industry leaders in 2022, is the improved version of the MHL seal. This seal allows the user to track changes for a directory across time, allows for multiple checksums, and creates a seal folder inside of the ‘sealed’ folder called ‘ascmhl’. This folder may contain multiple MHL files along with a chain file that links versions of your seal together.

MHL V1 seal is the original MHL standard which creates a sidecar file to seal a single directory or single file.

When selecting a seal, you can only choose one of these options - either MHL V1 or ASCMHL.
